Meet Carson Hocevar
Growing up in Michigan, Carson Hocevar first took to the track at the age of 7. Success shortly followed, capturing 70+ feature wins and 15 national championships in the USAC quarter midget ranks.
Under the guidance of NASCAR Truck Series Champion, Johnny Benson Jr, Hocevar moved up to full bodied stock cars at the age of 12.
A win in the Outlaw Late Model Division in 2015 at Berlin Raceway followed by a Super Late Model Victory later that year made him the youngest winner in both Late Model divisions and catapulted his career.
In 2017, Hocevar had a breakout season by becoming the youngest track champion in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series history — along with adding three JEGS/CRA All-Stars Pro Late Model Tour victories that same season.
He made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in 2019 at the famed Eldora Speedway with Jordan Anderson Racing which led to an opportunity to compete part-time in the series with Niece Motorsports in 2020.
That same season, Hocevar won the 49th running of the Winchester 400, a crown jewel Super Late Model race that has been won by motorsports legends such as Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin, and current NASCAR Cup Series stars such as Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott and Erik Jones.
Hocevar was tapped to pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado for Niece Motorsports full-time in 2021, scoring an impressive 8 top 10s and 3 top 5s and finishing 10th in the overall points standings in his rookie season.
He returned to Niece Motorsports in 2022 and impressed once again, making the playoffs and scoring 12 top 10s, 7 top 5s and winning his first career pole at Sonoma Raceway despite suffering from a broken leg as a result of a crash at Worldwide Technology Raceway the week prior.
He returned to the No. 42 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado for a third full-time season in 2023. In addition to his full-time efforts with Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Spire Motorsports announced that they had signed Hocevar to drive the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR XFINITY Series for six events with support from JR Motorsports. His first NASCAR XFINITY Series start came unexpectedly at Circuit of the Americas just a few weeks later when SS Green Light Racing asked him to drive the No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro.
On Saturday, April 1, 2023 in his 59th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start, Hocevar was able to break through and score his first NASCAR National Series win at Texas Motor Speedway. He won three more times in 2023, propelling him a Championship 4 berth. He finished the season third overall in series points.
Beginning in 2024, Hocevar will move to the NASCAR Cup Series and drive the No. 77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports.
